My Pastor

Like an artist attempts to portray her vision within…Like a photographer desires to capture the exquisite nature of the moment…Like a masterful storyteller seeks to spin energy into a mesmerizing tale…So is the anointed giver of God’s word. She longs for nothing more than to share the many bits of beauty and truth that have been revealed to her, and woven into the fabric of her own identity in Christ.

It is a desire to please. She delights in the pleasure of her God, and she awaits His doting words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
It is an outpouring of love. She is so consumed and overtaken by the love of her Master, that His own character overflows the capacity of the vessel.
It is a craving to create. Made in His image, she knows the creative power of her words, and uses them to spark new life into the steps of those whom she leads.
It is a means of expression. Like lyrics define the intricacies of melody, her lips seek to explain the beautifully unexplainable.

What is it?

It is the response to His invitation.
Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you—although if you can gain your freedom, do so. -1Corinthians 7:21

It is the acceptance of a new identity.

“…even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? As he says in Hosea:
“I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people;
and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,” and,
“In the very place where it was said to them,
‘You are not my people,’
there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’”-Romans 9:24-26
It is embracing a divine destiny.
God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. – 1 Corinthians 1:9
It is aspiring to holiness.
With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. -2 Thessalonians 1:11
It is to receive Godly assignment.
But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased…-Galatians 1:15

This is the blessed burden of the Master’s call, and my pastor bears it beautifully.
