I opened the door this morning to a balmy 45 degrees. In the dark, I heard distant sirens – proof that pain is still an issue in the world. But that pain was wrapped wholly in a swaddling of stillness that overcame its predawn scream. Then, I think, ” Isn’t that how He does it?”
At the apex of our pain, He wraps Himself around us. The pain still stings, but the strength of His peace stills its efforts. There, in that holy, timeless place, we see how His love saves.
I see it.
I see a tiny fragment of light
Cut thru the dark night
And I know my Love is near
Tho shadows still I see
Waxing, waning all around me
Their mobility rightly proves Love is here
